Meet the Digital Business Management team

The Master Digital Business Management (M.Sc.) is taught by experienced professors who know their subject from practical experience and are active in research. Selected courses, especially practice-oriented courses and skills-based workshops, are taught by qualified experts from companies and institutes, usually with a PhD and several years of professional experience. The team is complemented by lecturers who are willing to offer our students exciting lectures, seminars and project work in addition to their work in business.

Prof. Dr. Mario Boßlau

Professor of Digital Business Management

Mario Boßlau has served as a Professor of Digital Business Management since the summer semester of 2024. He is the Program Director of the Master’s program in Digital Business Management (M.Sc.) at the Business School, where he contributes his interdisciplinary expertise to various undergraduate and graduate programs.

As an industrial engineer, Mario Boßlau specializes in business model development, innovation and technology management, and digital transformation, focusing on the intersection of business and technology. He brings extensive professional experience from leadership roles in innovation management within the automotive and energy industries. Additionally, he has held management positions in an industrial service company, further enriching his academic and professional insights.

Prof. Dr. Thomas Schuster

Prof. Dr. Thomas Schuster

Professor of Databases and Software Engineering

Thomas Schuster is a Professor of Database and Software Engineering, specializing in Digital Business Management and Information Systems within the Faculty of Economics and Law at Pforzheim University. He serves as the Program Director for the BBA / Digital Business Management (B.Sc.) and is a lecturer in various master’s-level courses.

In addition to his role as the director of the FutureLAB, he acts as the scientific coordinator for the joint project KI Lab, a collaboration between Wirtschaftsförderung Nordschwarzwald GmbH and Pforzheim University. He also serves as the scientific coordinator for campus IT at Pforzheim University, overseeing the central IT department. His research interests include software engineering, technology-enhanced data protection, and the sustainability of cloud applications.

Andreas Schneider

Research Assistant

Andreas Schneider serves as a research assistant at Pforzheim University, where he also completed his studies in Business Informatics - Management & IT. Since 2024, he has worked as a study program assistant for the BBA / Digital Business Management (B.Sc.) and the Master of Science in Digital Business Management (M.Sc.) programs.

His teaching expertise focuses on the fields of Computer Science and Digital Business Management, including foundational programming with Java, algorithms and data structures, and Software Engineering. Additionally, he represents these teaching areas in other bachelor’s and master’s degree programs at Pforzheim University, showcasing his versatility and dedication to academic excellence.

Prof. Dr. Torben Kuhlenkasper

Professor of Econometrics, Mathematics and Statistics

Torben Kuhlenkasper is a Professor of Mathematics, Statistics, and Econometrics at Pforzheim University and serves as the Head of the Department of Quantitative Methods at the Business School. In addition to teaching undergraduate courses in mathematics and statistics, he offers advanced lectures on quantitative marketing research methods, empirical methods in human resource management, and data science methodologies.

Currently, he is engaged in several research projects, focusing on modern financial econometrics and the Design of Experiments (DoE). A prolific academic, he has authored three widely regarded textbooks on statistics, further contributing to the field through his scholarship and teaching.

Professor of Digital Media and Platforms

Anna Hansch, Professor of Digital Media and Platforms at Pforzheim University, previously held leadership roles in technology and media, including LinkedIn Germany. She earned her Ph.D. in Media Economics from the University of the Arts Berlin, focusing on digital learning platforms, and has a background in media management, consulting, and research on entrepreneurship education.

Prof. Dr. Margarita Bidler

Professor of Customer Insights & Data Analytics

Margarita Bidler, Professor of Customer Insights & Data Analytics at Pforzheim University, joined in winter semester 2023/24. She holds a Business Administration degree from TU Dresden, a Data Science certificate from Harvard, and a doctorate on digital privacy decision-making from the University of Passau. Previously, she worked in consumer insights and data management roles at Allianz SE and BSH, focusing on data-driven innovation and consumer journey optimisation.
