Our tailor-made program combines management-oriented subjects (approx. 70 percent) with applied computer science (approx. 30 percent).
In the management area, you will acquire sound knowledge in business administration, economics, quantitative methods, ethics, law, social and methodological competence.
In addition to this comprehensive economic education, you will acquire the following specific competencies in applied computer science:
Designing business processes with information systems, i.e. business process management, project management methods and transaction systems
- Selection, customization and implementation of application systems (e.g. SAP-ERP) and computer-based management methods
- Engineering approach to software engineering, especially in the design of information system architectures and human-computer interactions
- Implementation (programming and data management) of information systems. (e.g. object-oriented development with Java and relational databases with SQL)
- Understanding how operational IT systems (data networks, operating systems, hardware) work and their potential for use
- Design and implementation of web applications for digital business scenarios
- Knowledge and understanding of essential aspects of IT law
- Consolidation of knowledge in electives (e.g. Internet of Everything, Organizational Networks, Anything Relationship Management, Mobile Solutions, Smart Factory, Big Data Management, Transaction Systems in Logistics, e-business and Supply Chains, Personnel Management, Methods of Quality Management)
Typical forms of events are lectures in German and English, computer exercises and tutorials as well as seminars and case studies. Within the framework of projects (usually together with companies) and a Capstone event, you will have the opportunity to apply your new skills in a multidisciplinary and practical way.

You can find our alumni at many well-known management consultancies, IT consultancies or IT system houses and in companies of all industries. Because due to our broad training ("Pforzheim Model") there are additional opportunities for you in almost every company that uses information systems - in their IT areas, but also in specialist departments!
Our graduates are so highly rated by companies that you can usually choose from various offers. Whatever you choose: The graduate surveys show that you will probably already have signed your employment contract at the time of the examination. On the other hand, you could go one better and then complete your Master Information Systems (M.Sc.) with us, which is also one of the best courses of its kind in Germany and Western Europe.
The universities charge tuition fees of 1,500 € per semester for international students in the state of Baden-Württemberg and 650 € per semester for students in their second degree.
Students from the EU, the European Economic Area (EEA) and students who are part of an Erasmus Program are excluded from these fees. Refugees are also not affected. Students who have already begun their studies or who start in the summer semester 2017 are also unconcerned. Students who received their general qualification for university entrance in Germany without German citizenship are excluded.
