Accreditations of Business School Pforzheim

Successful accreditations by independent accreditation agencies and expert committees recognize the quality of study programs, their curricula and the processes of assurance of learning that are in place at a university.

Accreditations are also intended to improve the national and international comparability of study programs, to guarantee student mobility, and to provide different interest groups such as students and the public with reliable orientation regarding quality standards.

National accreditation

In Germany, universities are obliged to have all bachelor's and master's degree programs accredited. Currently eleven agencies are approved for national accreditation by the "Stiftung Akkreditierungsrat". The German accreditation system provides for three different types of procedures: program accreditation, system accreditation and alternative procedures.

The study programs of Busines School Pforzheim bear the quality seal of the "Stiftung Akkreditierungsrat", the German Foundation for Accreditation. In 2020, the study programs received program accreditation from the accreditation agency AQAS e.V. for the first time, based on the Pforzheim accreditation model. The model was developed within the framework of an experimental clause, based on a nation-wide pilot project.

International accreditation

In addition to mandatory national accreditation, universities can also seek accreditation from independent international organizations. Depending on the organization, accreditation systems are offered for the entire university or faculty or for individual study programs.

The Business School Pforzheim and its degree programs are entitled to display the prestigious international "AASCB-accredited" seal of approval from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). As an AACSB-accredited institution, the School of Business and Law, together with the study programs in Engineering of the universitys Engineering School, is one of the best business schools internationally.

All 13 Bachelor's programs in Business Administration have been awarded the "EFMD-accredited" seal of quality by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). This makes Pforzheim the first and only business school in the German-speaking area to hold both the EFMD accreditation and the AACSB seal of excellence.
