Information Systems (M.Sc.)

The master's program in Information Systems (M.Sc.) focuses on conveying technical and methodological knowledge, as well as IT and management competencies and capabilities. By combining management and IT courses, the program provides a broad range of qualifications for job positions in various sectors. On the basis of integrated General Management trainings, graduates will be well prepared for excecutive positions in their future career.

The bilingual, internationally accredited and interdisciplinary study program Master Information System enables you to learn more about the connections between business informatics, applied informatics and business administration. 
The design of IT solutions proves to be a central success factor in companies. The objective of the three-semester consecutive Master's program is to train specialists and managers in the IT sector with a focus on the interaction between people, processes and IT.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent first degree from a full university or university of applied sciences

Tuition Fees

Administrative costs, fees for the student ID card and a contribution to the student body. No tuition fee for German students, EU or EEA nationals and students with a German university entrance qualification. For other international students: tuition fee of 1,500 euros per semester in Baden-Wuerttemberg.

Contents and specifics

The study program combines specialized knowledge of Business Computing, Applied Computer Science and Computer Engineering. New technological developments and specialized IT topics are presented by professors of diverse disciplines. Additionally, you can learn more about the latest technological trends and market developments in the field of Information Systems.

The course content is geared to current IT-technological and market-relevant innovations and conveys the corresponding technical and methodological competence. It further enhances the competency of prospective IT professionals and executives in the following fields, preparing for leading positions and expert functions in management and IT:

  • Evaluation, selection, development and use of Information Systems within a company

  • Development, evaluation and selection of architectures in business and engineering applications

  • Technology of IT-systems

  • Management techniques at the operative and strategic levels in national and international environments

 

Starting in the first semester, the program offers students course options. By choosing your focus in IT and/or management, you can leave a personal mark on your studies depending on your interest and career destination (for example the field of elective subjects, practice and research projects or experimental working). Even on an international level, if you wish: There is the option of participating in a Double Degree program at the University of Ljubljana School of Economics and Business (SEBLU).

The standard period of study is three semesters, including the master’s thesis.
The clearly structured and well organized program ensures quality and reliability. Additionally, it creates flexibility within modules (for example company projects or research modules).

The combination of traditional classroom training with blended-learning leads to an integrated framework of learning. Inverted classroom as well as action-based learning are integrated in a seamless learning concept. 

The culture of Business School Pforzheim is driven by personal communication and cooperation. Small groups of 25 students enable close contact with fellow students. For this reason the working atmosphere is characterized by interdisciplinarity, enhancing a sense of community and collaboration.
