The Excursion Weeks for our MBA IM students normally allow for them to travel to different companies to gain professional insights into various industries in Germany. However, due to the current health regulations, Hochschule Pforzheim has brought the company’s to our students to provide presentations and case studies in a virtual environment.

Paritosh Sharma, Product Manager IoT/Innovation at Bosch Power Tools

The first of the week was Paritosh Sharma, an alumnus of the MBA International Management (Class of 2016), and Product Manager IoT/Innovation at Bosch Power Tools. Paritosh Sharma briefed our students on the history of Bosch, and the ways in which Bosch innovates with Industry 4.0 being the focus. With business sectors that include Mobility Solutions, Industrial Technology, Energy & Building Technology, and Consumer Goods, he displayed the ways in which artificial intelligence and internet of things is the cornerstone of all Bosch innovations to merge the physical and digital worlds. Paritosh Sharma delivered with enthusiasm and encouraged participation from all students, resulting in quite an energetic, informative, and interactive experience!

Siddharth Uppal, Product Manager for NKT’s Service & Installation Business Line

Following Mr. Sharma’s presentation, the next day was hosted by another alumnus – Siddharth Uppal (Class of 2020), Product Manager for NKT’s Service & Installation business line. Siddharth Uppal was also joined by his colleague Jakub Vastmans - Senior Product Manager. The two presented on how NKT, a world-leader in cable technology, has been pushing for innovation since 1891 and now contributing to the digital age of the fourth industrial revolution for the global transition to renewable energy. Today NKT has various business lines that include Service & Installation, Accessories, Solutions, and Applications – all of which play essential role from energy generation to consumption to ensure that electricity gets to our homes. What is more, some students will have the opportunity to work with NKT in their third semester for a company project. Siddharth Uppal and Jakub Vastmans provided a wealth of knowledge and experience about the power cables and renewable energy industry and the implementation of such in a sustainable manner.

Thank you, Mr. Vastmans, for your time and expertise!
A big thank you also to our two alumni Paritosh and Siddharth! We really appreciate your support and it is always a pleasure to have you back as guests in our MBA programme.
