Which factors contribute to a successful academic career? Good support at the beginning and a future-oriented range of courses that can be mastered in the time given. In addition, personal support from professors, contacts in professional life, and the opportunity to spend a semester abroad - in all assessment categories, the Business Administration degree programs as well as the Business Law degree program and the Technical Degree programs in Industrial Engineering and Business Information Systems at Pforzheim University receive very high ratings from our students. This is the result of the current Bachelor ranking of the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE).
The ranking is based on an anonymous survey of students. In Pforzheim's Business Administration and Business Information Systems programs, as well as in the Business Law program, students particularly praised Pforzheim’s curriculum and practical offerings, the general study situation and organization, as well as the support offered from instructors, support during studies, equipment, and the available options for studying abroad. In the general key figures, which are analyzed by the CHE in comparison with other universities, the Pforzheim Bachelor's programs rank in the top group, especially in terms of contact with the professional world.
"We train young people for the professional world of tomorrow," emphasizes Dean Professor Dr. Thomas Cleff. "Practical relevance and an international orientation are particularly important to us. Our students appreciate the worldwide network of partner universities, our wide range of lectures in English and the international accreditations with AACSB and EFMD, which place us among the top five percent of business schools worldwide."
In addition to the eleven Bachelor's degree programs in Business Administration and the study programs in Business Information Systems and Industrial Engineering, the Business Law program was also evaluated this year. It performed particularly well in all indicators in the student survey.
"As a University of Applied Sciences, we place great value on intensive, practice-based training for our students," says Dean of Academic Affairs Professor Dr. Claudius Eisenberg. "In our Business Administration programs, our 'Pforzheim Model' combines a well-founded education in economics with specialization in the chosen study program, and in the Business Law program, practical legal expertise with expertise in economics. This is what makes our graduates so highly valued and successful in their day-to-day careers."
Professor Dr. Ulrich Jautz, Principal of Pforzheim University, is also pleased with the good results: "The consistently high ratings for our university over the years show that we score points in every respect with our interdisciplinary approach, our wide-ranging practical relevance and our international orientation.
In the study program Industrial Engineering, all aspects are rated as very good, but clearly the practical relevance in teaching, the offers for career orientation and the equipment of the laboratories and the rooms stand out compared to other universities. " It is becoming increasingly difficult, especially against the backdrop of demographic change, to attract well-trained young people not only to companies, but also, in the preceding time frame, to universities. We are dealing more and more with an employee market and also a student market," says Dean Professor Dr. Matthias Weyer. "Young people today have a great deal of choice and reflect very strongly on where they want to be trained. That is why it is all the more motivating and it fills us with pride to see the results of our work in such rankings. They show that, even in retrospect, our students realize that studying at Pforzheim University was an excellent choice."
The results of the university ranking by the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE) were published on May 9, 2023 in the ZEIT Studienführer 2023/24 as well as on the HeyStudium website: studiengaenge.zeit.de
