Our senior batch just had their 1^st class of Innovation Management II, which primarily focusses on product development. This course has been taught by the highly accomplished, Dr. Frank J. Maile for 10 years in a row now. Dr. Maile’s work experience spans over 20 years and includes reputable names, currently he is Global Technical Director at SCHLENK Metallic Pigments GmbH.

After a brief introduction about himself, he dived straight into the basics of innovation. Constantly driving parallels between his experiences, he clarified concepts of innovation management and product development. He demonstrated the importance of perception with an interesting optical illusion video. He spoke passionately about Chemistry as well and left the students with a riddle as to why he used pictures of insects on his pigment shoot portfolio.

The class concluded with some interesting homework that would test the students critical thinking as well as research skills. Now, the students eagerly and anxiously wait to find out the answers in the next session!
