Another successful “guest in classroom” event took place last week. This time, UniCredit came all the way from Munich to visit the current MBA students. Two of the speakers, Diksha Ahuja and Shekhawat Mayank, are alumni from the MBA Pforzheim program. Together with their colleague Shakhnoza Tairova they presented their employer UniCredit and shared their experiences from the MBA program a few years back.

It has operations in 17 countries, with more than 8,000 branches and over 130,000 employees worldwide. It is also the largest corporate lender in Europe. The company operates in Germany as UniCredit Bank Aktiengesellschaft, better known under its brand name Hypovereinsbank (HVB).

The guests in classroom explained the students about the bank’s diverse business segments, such as commercial banking, global transaction banking and supply chain finance. They also discussed the approach used by the UniCredit Group when acquiring new banks, during which the brands are kept the way they are, since people are already familiarized with them.

As another point on the agenda, the students got to know the various career opportunities and entry possibilities with the bank for jobs during and after studies. Besides, they learned about UniCredit’s national and international graduate programs, as the speakers were part of the trainee program themselves.

During a questions & answers session, the guests and students engaged in conversations and the students received advice on how to get into the financial industry. Also they were curious to find out how to get the most out of the MBA program. Many thanks to the guest speakers for returning to Pforzheim University and sharing their career experiences at UniCredit with the MBA students.
