Adriana Rotaru on being Zen, working for SAP Signavio and Business Process Management

What a pleasure it was, to welcome Ms. Adriana Rotaru, Product Lead at SAP Signavio, and an alumna of our MBA International Management program in the latest episode of our ‘Guest in Classroom’ series. Adriana, spoke about her journey from MBA into the corporate world and the experiences that shaped her mindset and attitude into a positive one.
‘Focus on the process, do not give into frustrations, rather take inspiration from failures, be moderately ambitious, focus on creating an encouraging environment for the people around you and be kind and considerate. The feeling of togetherness and team-spirit is what makes experiences worth remembering and working, fun. ‘This increases productivity and work satisfaction,’ she said. She also demonstrated to us the power of team collaboration, effective communication and synchronization, through a fun team activity of ‘Balancing the Helium Stick.’ Clear role definition, clarity of instruction, self-organization and empathy and understanding towards each other, are the keys to success!
To give us a sneak-peek into SAP’s world of Business Process Management, she touched upon topics like Process Identification to Analysis, Discovery, Monitoring and Controlling, Implementation and Redesign and the impact effectively organized processes have on integrating all stakeholders, eliminating bottlenecks, and improving efficiency.
Every job brings its own value with it. A leader’s role is to create spaces for the team members to maximize their potential. The best way to learn subject knowledge quickly is to put oneself in the situation where one needs to deliver something, like a training session, or a presentation. It maximizes experiential learning. Also, being in the corporate world, she emphasized on the importance of consciously paying attention to balance health, work, family, friends, and the things one loves to do - ‘And find a job that you love doing!’
Thanks for being an inspiration to us, Adriana. We are grateful to you for an engaging interaction, are taking back a lot of lessons and look forward to staying connected with you.
