How podcasts can create value for media companies – DIE ZEIT goes HSPF

With renowned podcasts by ZEIT and ZEIT ONLINE such as “Verbrechen”, “Was jetzt?” or “Alles gesagt?” the ZEIT Verlagsgruppe is a highly relevant player within the podcast business.

Thus, we were very happy to get the chance of including a guest lecture by Dennis Draber, who leads the Business Development team of the ZEIT Verlagsgruppe, in our podcast lecture at Pforzheim University this semester. The students were given valuable insights on the relevance of podcasts particularly for media companies. We learned how podcasts can contribute to the overall product portfolio, reach additional target groups as well as adding value to the overall branding strategy of a media company.

With a brief case study, the students were furthermore able to take their knowledge into action by elaborating and discussing with Dennis on possible content formats, frequency, length and name of a potentially new podcast within the portfolio.
