Study purchasing, logistics and supply chain management: Management knowledge in a unique combination

Logistics management at Pforzheim University - embedded in a broad business studies program, you will learn purchasing, logistics and supply chain management in theory and practice. Scope of the study program

The Bachelor's program at Pforzheim University is a full-time program with a total of 210 ECTS credits.

 

Program language
German (at least 24 credits in English)

 

Pforzheim Model

Comprehensive business fundamentals, e.g. business administration, economics and law, identical for all study programs at the faculty. In the further course of the program, the proportion of courses from your specialization purchasing, logistics and supply chain management then increases successively.

 

Course of studies

1st - 2nd semester (basic studies)

In the first two semesters, you will take courses in the basics of economics, as well as first introductory courses in your specialization.

 

3rd - 4th semester (main studies)

In the third and fourth semesters, the proportion of basic business courses decreases, while the proportion of courses in your specialization of purchasing, logistics and supply chain management increases.

 

At the same time, if you wish, you can plan your semester abroad during this period. The semester abroad is optional in the study program and is usually completed by students in the period between the 5th and 6th semester.

 

5th semester (main study period)

As part of the Bachelor's degree program, students regularly complete a six-month compulsory internship in a company in the 5th semester, which can also be done abroad.

 

6th - 7th semester (main studies)

In the last two semesters, you will take courses specific to your study program, such as the practical project. In addition, you will write your Bachelor's thesis in the seventh semester and take the oral exam

 

Prerequisites 
The entry requirement is a higher education entrance qualification. Good English language skills are essential. Non-native speakers must prove sufficient knowledge of German

Benefits

In addition to free WiFi access on campus and roughly 70 workstations there are two laboratories available for the logistics students - equipped with software systems for simulations, critical path analysis, route optimization, site optimization and route planning as well as application systems for purchasing and logistics, MS Office packages and internet accesses. Moreover, students have the possibility to lend tablet computers and other seminar and presentation technology.
