Presentation Mastery: Empowering MBA Students

News

In the dynamic landscape of business, the ability to communicate effectively and present ideas with impact is a skill that sets individuals apart. Presentation Skills, a transformative 3-day intensive course led by industry experts Paula Murmann and Marc Hecker from Business Strategy at Accenture, is aimed at honing these essential skills and preparing students for success in the professional arena.
Paula, an MBA alumna of Pforzheim University and Business Strategy Manager at Accenture, shared her extensive experience in strategy consulting, and digitization. Paula provided practical tips on creating an appealing PowerPoint template, highlighting the do's and don'ts of slide design, and effective storytelling techniques. Marc, a Business Strategy Analyst at Accenture, focused on the delivery aspect of presentations. He discussed the significance of voice modulation, body language, and stress management.
This 3-day intensive course engaged our MBA students in various activities to enhance their presentation skills and communication prowess. From practicing Elevator Pitches to delivering polished presentations and receiving immediate feedback, every aspect was meticulously crafted to foster growth and proficiency.

Grounded in Proven Frameworks
Under the guidance of Paula and Marc, the course began by providing a solid theoretical foundation. Students explored key concepts such as understanding audience needs, the art of storytelling, the pyramid principle, and the MECE (Mutually Exclusive, Collectively Exhaustive) principle.

Feedback and Refinement
Recognizing the importance of continuous improvement, Paula and Marc also curated feedback sessions, where students can review and provide constructive feedback on sample input slides. This process allowed our students to critically analyze presentations and identify areas for enhancement, further honing their ability to deliver polished and impactful presentations. Through a series of interactive exercises, students had the opportunity to put their newfound knowledge into action.

Summary
By participating in this course, our MBA students not only enhanced their communication skills but also cultivated a mindset of strategic thinking and adaptability – qualities that are highly sought after in today's dynamic business landscape.

A big THANK YOU you to Paula Murmann and Marc Hecker for their guidance and empowerment!
