In the summer semester of 2025, the Business School Pforzheim once again hosted a joint seminar course with the Fritz-Erler School (FES) Pforzheim. The aim of the program was to spark early interest among students in digital business processes, modern ERP systems, and the opportunities of an IT-oriented degree program – thereby fostering a lasting enthusiasm for business informatics and digital technologies.

The course was developed in close collaboration between Fritz-Erler School, represented by teacher Stefan Höll, and the Business School Pforzheim. The academic design and delivery on the university side were led by Prof. Dr. Frank Morelli.

At the heart of the course was hands-on work with SAP S/4HANA in a realistic training environment. Participants received a practical introduction to the structure and functionality of modern ERP systems and were able to independently simulate business processes – from customer order processing and warehouse management to production planning with variant configuration.

The technical content was complemented by methodically structured practice sessions on structures, master and transaction data models, process modeling, and project management. This allowed students to gain concrete experience in various functional areas and strengthen both their analytical and digital skills.

Feedback from participants was consistently positive: the opportunity to work directly within the SAP system and experience the role of digital processes in companies in a tangible way was especially appreciated. Several students even expressed specific interest in pursuing a degree in Business Information System or Information Systems at Pforzheim University.

With this SAP seminar course, Business School Pforzheim is making a strong statement in support of early talent development, digital education, and practice-oriented knowledge transfer between schools and universities. The successful cooperation with Fritz-Erler School is set to continue next year, with plans to expand the program to include new thematic focuses.
