Decentral Academic Committees

In addition to the central Study Commissions of the Business School and the Faculty Examination Board, each degree program has its own Decentral Academic Committee and an Examination Board for the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs.

Student representatives on the Decentral Academic Committee (in German “StuKo”) are elected by the students of the respective degree program and formally appointed by the Faculty Council.

The Committee addresses all matters related to teaching and academic studies. It consists of the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs (Chair) as well as at least two professors and two student representatives from the respective degree program.

The term of office for student members is two semesters; for all other members, it is four semesters.

The Decentral Academic Committee primarily deals with:

  • Handling student inquiries and addressing student concerns
  • Evaluating courses (including the timing, frequency, and format of evaluations)
  • Contributing to and preparing upcoming accreditation procedures
  • Participating in discussions and decisions regarding new study and examination regulations, as well as amendments to existing regulations

In short, the Decentral Academic Committee is responsible for all matters relating to the curriculum and teaching within the degree program.

Members are elected by the Faculty Council upon proposal of the respective degree programs. A formal nomination can be submitted by email to the Faculty Management Office, including the names of the newly proposed members and/or those resigning from the Committee.
