CHANGE MANAGEMENT

News

If there ever was a time that Change Management mattered, it is now!

This summer semester once again the MBA program welcomed Geoff Matthews, former Vice President HR at Nestlé and Founder of Geoffrey Matthews Consulting, to teach the Change Management elective course to its students. Unfortunately - due to Covid restrictions - the course had to take place online, but that could not diminish the students´ enthusiasm for the class, which this year was also joined by students from the Master’s program in Corporate Communication Management.
The course places high importance on case studies and class participation. During these sessions, which took place during April-June, students learnt about the key aspects of organizational change, theories and psychology of change as well as the sponsorship and communication of change. They also explored the challenges of ever-more complex changes in organization (such as digital transformation), what can be done to increase change capacity, and the critical role that managers play.  Geoff shared his own experience of leading changes, and the students discussed their own past work experiences, which made for lively interactions and a rewarding combination of theory and practice for everyone.
