The MBA in International Management was established at Pforzheim Business School in 1996, making it one of the oldest MBA programs in Germany. Over the past three decades, hundreds of professionals from across the globe have completed the program, many of them coming from European countries.
Today, they are part of a large and closely connected alumni network that continues to support both the program and current MBA students. Looking back, many agree that taking a break from a successful career to pursue a full-time MBA was one of the best decisions they ever made.
A key reason is the international and intercultural learning experience that defines the MBA. In a classroom filled with participants from different countries, cultures, and professional backgrounds, students learn far more than business concepts. Every discussion, team project, and presentation becomes an opportunity to develop intercultural competence, broaden perspectives, and learn how to collaborate across cultural boundaries.
In today's global business environment, these skills are more important than ever. Organizations operate across markets, teams work internationally, and leaders are expected to navigate cultural differences with confidence and sensitivity. For those who want to drive change, lead diverse teams, and make an impact in an interconnected world, intercultural competence is no longer a nice-to-have, but a critical success factor.
Our alumni from across Europe share how the MBA helped them develop exactly these capabilities and prepared them for the challenges and opportunities of international careers:
Jessica Greenwood, Germany/Irland, MBA Class of 2024, Junior Product Manager, Erbe Group, Germany
“The MBA gave me another perspective on what possibilities there are, perhaps also for my future career. I wouldn't have taken these steps without the MBA and without the alumni, explaining where one can go after the MBA. I think that really helped."
Adela-Maria Jiva, Romania, MBA Class of 2019, Commercial Executive for Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), Microsoft, Germany
“The MBA program has been proved to be inestimable in progressing my career. It offered me the work enhancements that I was searching for.”
Paula Murmann, Poland, MBA Class of 2021, Energy & Utilities Strategy Manager, Accenture, Germany

Kevin van den Boom, Germany, MBA Class of 2017, Technical Product Owner MO360 Data Platform, Mercedes Benz AG, Germany
"The MBA´s networking opportunities are very directly linked to my career success, as I got offered to write my thesis at Daimler´s business innovation lab at the end of my first semester. Apart of that, many of the people I met during the MBA shaped my mind set during very intense 1.5 years, which helps me in my job.”
Lukas Hornung, Germany, MBA Class of 2017, Product Design Engineer, Apple, USA
"I spent my 3rd semester abroad at the EGADE Business School, part of the prestigious Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico. It was a great experience and a great addition to the MBA program at Pforzheim University.”

Pforzheim MBA was a no brainer.”
