Interview with advertising alumna Sarah Schwenk
News

Sarah Schwenk completed her bachelor's degree in business administration/marketing communication and advertising in 2016. She then worked as marketing manager at farbtex GmbH in Dornstetten and, at the same time, completed a part-time master's degree in e-commerce and social media. In 2022, she began developing social media channels for her family's farm. Together with her husband, she now runs the farm, which has around 300 dairy cows and a biogas plant. Her main responsibilities are in the office and in human resources management. Since 2024, Sarah Schwenk has been working with Südwestrundfunk as part of the SWR talent network and for SWR Landesschau. Through this collaboration, she hopes to “educate even more people about agriculture in Germany.”
In my current job, I benefit from my studies in...
...a wide range of subjects. I studied marketing communications and advertising, and I am still involved in this field today through our social media activities, even though I primarily run an agricultural business with my husband.
A typical working day on our farm...
...doesn't really exist. On a farm of our size, something unexpected can always happen. Of course, we have our daily routine tasks such as milking and feeding the animals. But otherwise, it's always exciting to see what the day will bring.
I start my day with...
...as much peace and quiet as possible. Above all, I try not to look at my cell phone right away. At least not within the first hour after I get up. Because the rest of the day I'm busy filming, editing, or writing scripts. I also have two small children who keep me busy the rest of the day. That's why peace and quiet and cell phone-free time in the morning is an important priority for me.
My tip for students:
Take the initiative, pursue the things you enjoy doing, and stick with them
