The MBA Pforzheim is pleased to have welcomed Thomas Heck, Partner, Head of China Business Group in Germany and Europe at PwC Frankfurt. Thomas took the time to walk students through his very impressive career journey which began as an accounting student the HS Pforzheim. During his studies, he completed an internship in New York City with Price Waterhouse as a result of cold calling them looking for an opportunity. Upon graduation, he joined PwC Frankfurt seven years before taking an opportunity to join PwC New York. His journey then brought him back to Germany for a while before joining PwC Shanghai. During his time there, he also gave his time as a guest lecturer at CDHK Tongi University Shanghai. After four years in China, he decided it was time to come back to Germany where he took his current role in Frankfurt. Thomas stressed the importance traveling has had on his career and looks back fondly on his time spent in the US and in China during their digital transformation. He also impressed upon the students to focus on their “life” goals, not just “career” goals. This advice was well timed as our students are looking at internship and job opportunities over the summer and beyond.
