In a semester opening session, all new MBA students were welcomed by program director Prof. Strotmann and other MBA students.

The new semester has officially started! In a semester opening session, Prof. Harald Strotmann, program director and vice dean of Business School Pforzheim, welcomed all new MBA students at the university. During an informal get-together after the official part of the session, 1st and 3rd semester MBA students had the chance to meet and exchange for the first time.

14 students from five different countries represent the new MBA class. They come from the US, India, Iran, China and Germany. During the first part of the session, the new students received in-depth information on the program and the semester schedule.  The upcoming months will include company visits to Mann + Hummel, Amazon and Daimler, and guest talks by Mahle, Lidl and Bosch. During a two-day excursion, the new students will visit Heidelberger Druck, SAP, Global Logistics Center of Mercedes-Benz and Freudenberg.

Four students from our partner universities in the US (University of Wyoming) and Portugal (ISCTE) joined the 3rd semester batch for pursuing a double-degree. This semester, the 3rd semester MBA students are taking part in five company projects with Bosch Corporate Purchasing, Heidelberger Druck, Hymer, Frankotyp Postalia, and Bosch Rexroth. At the end of October, the whole batch will be joined by 15 MBA students from University of Wyoming for one week to experience the annual “Wyoming Week”. During that week, students from different nationalities will work together on teams and visit several companies in Southern Germany and Switzerland.

After the official information session, MBA students from both batches got together for Brezels and drinks in the MBA room. Upcoming events over the next few days will be a city walking tour through Pforzheim, a guided library tour, and a high rope team building event. May this prelude be followed by a great semester!
