Negotiating Your Way to Success

The first year MBA students spent their Friday & Saturday participating in Negotiation Skills—a unique module offered at Hochschule Pforzheim

Elizabeth Ascherl, Managing Director and Partner from LingoFacto, returned again after hosting a Cross-cultural Communication course & Presentation Skills course in the winter semester.

The students were treated to two engaging days of some theory but much more real-world practice & case studies. Students participated in over a dozen different roleplays that ranged from 1-on-1 negotiation roleplays to group-on-group negotiation roleplays. They practiced how to negotiate for salary, how to deal with challenging buyer tactics, and even learned a bit on how to negotiate via text!

The two-day module was noisy, exciting and full of win-win deals and situations for both parties involved in some sets and compromises in others! The students also learned about how negotiations often have pitfalls and how they can go wrong as well. After a great set of sessions and learnings, the MBA students left with more experience to prepare them for their future in Europe and beyond…
