For the past two weeks the MBA students had the pleasure to take a Leadership course with Dr. Tracy Maylett from Brigham Young University (Utah, USA).

For the past two weeks the MBA students had the pleasure to take a Leadership course with Dr. Tracy Maylett from <link https: home.byu.edu home external-link-new-window external link in new>Brigham Young University (Utah, USA). Throughout the course, leadership from multiple perspectives was examined. Since leaders can be found in all kinds of life settings, the different leaderships taken into account were personal leadership, interpersonal leadership and organizational leadership. These have been evaluated during the course through intensive work between the students and Dr. Tracy Maylett. 

Dr. Tracey Maylett holds a doctorate in Organization Change from Pepperdine University and an MBA from Brigham Young University. He teaches at the department for Organizational Leadership and Strategy at Marriott School at Brigham Young University in Utah, USA. At the same time, Dr. Tracy Maylett is Chief Executive Officer of <link https: www.decision-wise.com about management-team>DecisionWise, an expert consultancy on Employee Engagement Surveys, 360-degree Feedback, and Organization Development. He is co-author of the book <link http: www.amazon.com magic-unlock-power-employee-engagement dp>MAGIC: Five Keys to Unlock the Power of Employee Engagement., which was used during the leadership course at Pforzheim University.

The leadership course was shaped by intensive discussions, team work and complex projects, through which the students developed knowledge about different leadership concepts. Over the time of the course, the students demonstrated their leadership skills through presentations and group assignments. Besides, they created a personal leadership profile to develop further leadership skills.

Towards the end of the leadership course, the students now understand the difference between leadership and management, the key mechanisms of social influence, amongst many other factors. Thanks to Dr. Tracy Maylett, they developed basic skills of mobilizing and engaging others, as well as action plans to further increase leadership capabilities and strength in the future.
