Pforzheim University’s MBA program was honoured to welcome Dr. Andrei Moroc, an alumnus of our program, as a distinguished guest lecturer this semester. Bringing a wealth of international experience from the financial and shipping sectors, Andrei Moroc delivered a dynamic and highly practical module focused on Excel financial modelling.
Throughout the course, he emphasized real-world application by using a hands-on case study: buying and renting a property through Airbnb. Students were guided step-by-step through building detailed Excel models, analysing profitability, managing risks, and understanding the financial feasibility of such investments. This practical framework helped students directly link theoretical concepts to tangible business decisions.
Beyond Excel, Andrei Moroc also shared valuable insights from his extensive background in global finance and the shipping industry, offering students a rare perspective on international markets, asset management, and operational challenges in highly dynamic sectors.
His sessions were characterized by a unique blend of technical skill development, strategic thinking, and real-world application, aligning perfectly with the MBA program’s mission to prepare its graduates for global challenges.
