The complete MBA Class of 2017 came together for the first time at this year’s official summer semester opening. The students who had previously deepened their business foundations in the first semester welcomed the new students who are already business graduates.

The complete MBA Class of 2017 came together for the first time at this year’s official summer semester opening. The students who had previously deepened their business foundations in the first semester welcomed the new students who are already business graduates.

Professor Harald Strotmann, the program director and vice dean of the Pforzheim Business School, informed the students about all available courses, company visits and events throughout this semester and gave an overview of the entire MBA program and its focus.

The MBA Class of 2017 is comprised by students from a wide range of cultural and industry backgrounds. There are twenty students from different nationalities: China, Iran, India, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Germany and Mexico.

Besides the core courses, the MBA students can choose between three electives: Cross-cultural management, change management and leadership. In addition, to not only focus on theory but also on practice, students will have the opportunity to get practical insight into the German business culture. This semester, the MBA students will go visit different companies at their headquarters on their 4-day trip to the Swabian Alps and the City of Ulm. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to interact with business leaders through the “Guest in classroom” sessions. This semester’s guest companies include Belden, Daimler, PUMA, HBV-Uni Credit.

In order to start the semester with a team building exercise, the students practiced archery since in archery as in business, aiming precisely to reach your target is key.
