Real teamwork and strategic planning were required to pass all tasks of the MBA TEAM CHALLENGE at the Wildpark in Pforzheim.

For every new batch of MBA students the MBA office organizes a Team Challenge in the closeby Wildpark. It is not only a fun event but a real team building afternoon that the first semester students spend together while being challenged by individual and group tasks. Before starting for the first task the students were devided into three teams and had to find a name for each group. In the first challenge the UNDERDOGS, the HOOAH MARINES and the FAB FIVE had to do the “GPS Sprint”. By using a GPS device the students had to find an object that didn´t belong in the surrounding forest. The UNDERDOGS were the first ones to find the colored plastic ball and bring it back to the base which earned them 3 points on the leaderboard. For the second task called “Marbel Run” the students had to develop a strategy to connext the four pipes together in way that the marbel would keep rolling while the team members had to extend the marbel run by adding the last pipe in the row to the front once the marble has left it. In the end the marble had to fall in a red upside down helmet on the ground. This task proofed to be a real challenge and all teams were excited to figure out the best way how to do it. The “Team Ski” was next on the task list. The team members had to name a leader that would take up the front position of the ski and announce which side all the members had to step forward simultaniously. The aim was to “ski” on a predefinded stretch, turn around and “ski” the same way back, as quickly as possible. The FAB FIVE went first and the other teams were trying to learn from their example. For each step off the ski of one of the team members there was a five second penalty for the team. The fourth challenge was a individual task. The students had to proove their quick reactivity by catching a wooden stick that was dropped unannounced. For the last challenge each team had to name two members to climb up a climbing wall a quick as possible. Some of the students prooved to be very skilled so that the steep climb was a walk in the park for them.
In the end the UNDERDOGS came first, the FAB FIVE second and the HOOAH MARINES made a good third place. Besides the certificates each group received some chocolates to make up for the lost calories.
