Inspiring "Guest in Classroom": Dr. Gunjan Bhardwaj, founder and CEO of INNOPLEXUS AG

It is always a pleasure to have our MBA alumnis back at Pforzheim University to deliver their experiences and learnings to the current MBA students. This semester Dr. Gunjan Bhardwaj, MBA Class 2007, returned to the Pforzheim campus as a guest speaker. Being an entrepreneur and an innovator, he has a vast range of experience in various sectors of industry and has worked in the consulting industry for more than 5 years before starting his own company in Germany after his MBA.
Dr. Bhardwaj is the founder and CEO of Innoplexus AG - Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain Technology Company. Innoplexus aims to help enterprises to gain insights from the structured and unstructured data by providing them with products based on artificial intelligence and blockchain technology. He explained the MBA students how these technologies work and how they can be used to help build a better world and figure out better solutions for both personal and professional life. According to Dr. Bhardwaj pharma companies should be enabled to develop the right medication faster by crawling and analysing all relevant data available worldwide, thus avoiding unsuccessful, time-consuming and costly trials.

Dr. Bhardwaj himself works 20 hours a day and when asked what motivates him, he said “If you love what you do, it doesn’t stress you”.
Dr. Bhardwaj had an urge to do business from the very start of his career. He told the story of his first start-up when he was studying engineering at IIT-Mumbai and when he and his friends planned to manufacture pressure valves and ended up making bean-bags. When his father asked him why he was doing it, his answered “to learn how it works”. His second start-up got him to meet the President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam in person. Never held back from failure, Dr. Bhardwaj always kept moving forward for something new. He gave the MBA students 3 main keys to success: hard work, perseverance and honesty of purpose. He explained how these three values played a major role in different phases of his life and made him what he is today. The third value, “honesty of purpose”, became even the base of Dr. Bhardwaj´s present business Innoplexus, when his boss and mentor, with whom he shared a very good bond, was diagnosed with cancer.
Dr. Bhardwaj asked the students to work hard and go for their dreams and goals. “Every idea is stupid; it´s honesty and perseverance that make it successful. The idea should be bigger than you,” he said. On a whole it was a very exciting and motivating session and all the students were very happy to learn from such an inspiring personality as Dr. Gunjan Bhardwaj.
